Since January 2022, we have been supporting programs to empower girls at several locations. We fund educational work in schools, contraception and prenatal care for destitute patients.

The background
Slums and underdeveloped localities pose a major challenge for measures to prevent and effectively combat PERIODIC POVERTY and PERIODIC STIGMA. Unfortunately, it is the women and girls who bear the brunt of the burden due to their disadvantaged position in society as a result of culture, traditions, values, social misconceptions and belief systems.
Slum households are characterized as households that suffer from one or more of the following “household deprivations”:
Insecure housing status, poor structural quality of housing, inadequate living space, inadequate access to clean water, inadequate access to sanitation, persistent poverty, unemployment, gender-based violence, sexual abuse and drugs and substance abuse.
Women and girls are the most disadvantaged. We demand free sanitary products for girls and women, as menstruation places an additional financial burden on them.
Menstrual poverty is a threat that deprives society of talented women, potential leaders, women who would change their homes and the world at large.
We believe that by supporting girls, we are supporting Kenyan social development. But we can only do this with our local partners.
